SHIPPING & RETURNS


At Origin & Objects, every piece is made to order, shaped slowly using handwoven fabrics and thoughtful processes. This means your garment is created especially for you, and we take time — not shortcuts — in its making and dispatch.

TIMELINES

  • After your order is confirmed, we begin making your piece.
  • Shipping generally takes 10–15 working days from the date of order confirmation.
  • During peak periods or for certain fabrications, timelines may extend slightly — we’ll always keep you informed.

DELIVERY

  • Shipping times are approximate and not guaranteed; customs and logistics partners can vary by region.
  • Duties, taxes or insurance outside the purchase price are the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise stated.

Our aim is that each piece finds you in gentle rhythm, not haste.

SHIPPING WITHIN INDIA

  • Shipping across India is free
  • Orders to major cities with direct connectivity are usually delivered within 2 working days after dispatch
  • For smaller cities and remote addresses, delivery may take up to 5 working days

Please ensure an Indian phone number is provided at checkout for smooth delivery coordination.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

We ship internationally via trusted courier partners such as UPS and DHL.

Delivery timelines

  • Major international cities: 3–4 working days after dispatch
  • Other locations: 6–7 working days after dispatch
  • Shipping costs for international deliveries are usually anywhere between INR 3000 - INR 7000 over and above the order total depending on factors such as weight and location.

CUSTOMS, DUTIES & INSURANCE

  • Customs duties, local taxes, and import charges are not included in your order value
  • These charges vary by country and are the responsibility of the customer
  • Delivery timelines may be affected by customs clearance, which is beyond our control


If you would like your international shipment to be insured, please write to us before dispatch and we’ll be happy to assist.

REMOTE AREA CHARGES

While our shipping rates are flat, some international or domestic addresses may fall under remote area zones as identified by courier partners.

In such cases, we may contact you regarding the additional shipping cost difference before dispatch.

CHANGE OR CANCELLATION

If you need to adjust or cancel your order, write to us within 24 hours of placing the order.

Beyond that window, your garment will already be in motion through our studios, and we may not be able to pause the process.

RETURNS, EXCHANGES & MADE-TO-ORDER

Because each piece is made to your request -shaped slowly on the loom and often finished by hand, we approach returns and exchanges with care and clarity.

Things to know

  • We do not offer refunds on garments made to order, as these are created uniquely for you.
  • Exchanges are possible if something isn’t quite right — within reason and under care conditions (see below).
  • Final sale: Orders placed during sample sales or special promotions are final and not eligible for return or exchange.

We encourage you to check our size guides and contact us for support before ordering - we’re here to help you choose with confidence.

HOW EXCHANGE WORKS

If you’d like to exchange a piece, please:

  1. Let us know within 3 days of delivery.
  2. Send the garment back in its original condition, unworn, unwashed, with tags intact and in original packaging.
  3. We’ll inspect the return and, once accepted, work with you to find your exchange.

Timeframe

  • Please ensure the item reaches us within 25 working days of your exchange request.
  • Once received and approved, we’ll work with your choice and communicate next steps.

Exchange conditions

  • Exchanges are accepted once per order unless otherwise agreed.
  • If the desired size or item isn’t available, we’ll let you know — availability can vary with handwoven pieces.
  • The cost of shipping, duties and taxes for returns/exchanges is usually borne by the customer unless the return is due to a mistake on our part.

VARIATIONS & CRAFT CHARACTERISTICS

Handwoven textiles naturally vary in:

  • texture
  • dye depth
  • weight
  • weave nuance

These variations are not faults, but echoes of the handcrafted process, and not considered grounds for return or exchange.

If a garment is damaged or significantly different from what was ordered, please reach out quickly with images - we will review and guide you with care.

RETURNS NOT ELIGIBLE

  • Made-to-order pieces (unless defective)
  • Garments that show signs of wear, washing, or alteration
  • Items without tags or original packaging
  • International returns where duty or customs costs are incurred

IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG

If there’s been a mistake on our side - a defect or the wrong item was sent , we will take responsibility for:

  • arranging return logistics
  • covering return shipping costs
  • working with you to make it right

All we ask is that you contact us within 3 days of receipt with photos and details, so we can support you swiftly.
